Bridgwater's Blake Museum

The Blake Museum passes to the ownership of Bridgwater Town Council
Celebrations of April 11 2009

At a similar ceremony of 15th April 1926, Mayor Deacon said that the Borough Council "had set up the Museum with the idea of rescuing from loss and destruction the relics of our ancestors, to show visitors that we are not indifferent to our own history, ... to give our townspeople pride in their past and show them that they live in a town where great events have taken place and where great men have lived."

Mayor Granter reminded the people gathered putside the Museum in 2009 of those fine words now that the Blake Museum had returned to the control of the Town Council.
