The Bridgwater Historical Tapestry
The Bridgwater Historical tapestry was designed and made by the Girls of Westover Secondary Modern School in 1951 to celebrate the Festival of Britain of the same year. It was extended in 1969, by the Pupils of Westover Secondary Mixed School, as a celebration of 500 years of the Mayorality of Bridgwater. The linear tapestry consists of a number of embroidered panels depicting events during Bridgwater's long history.
