Records from World Wars
Records from World War I - 1914 to 1918
The Museum has compiled a set of indices to the Bridgwater Mercury spanning the years 1914 - 1918. These indices concentrate on
matters concerning the War. There are names of those missing or killed from Bridgwater and district. Every attempt has been made
to ensure accuracy, but no guarantee is given that there are no accidental errors or omissions.
Microfilm copies of the Bridgwater Mercury are held in the Library, Binford Place, Bridgwater, and in the Somerset Heritage Centre,
Taunton.
An original of the Roll of Honour is held the Museum Collections is also shown below, together with a transcription of the list of
names.
The lists of names are subtly different because they were compiled at different times, and new casualties were being found.
